My Highlights 2024 were linked to Sustainability Communities and related working to research topics. Here is my personal insight – together we can create more SUSTAINABILITY! My efforts are methodical and practical impuls to creation of Sustainable Interactive Systems through methods to Human- and Life-centred Design and Business Engineering for Sustainable Universities.

New professional start at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Heidenheim
I am proud to be a part of Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Heidenheim (Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg, Hochschule in Ostwürttemberg | DHBW Heidenheim) – I started in January 2024 as Professor for Business Informatics and was warmly welcome by Rector Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. Rainer Przywara! The dual system of learning offers a strong link between theory and praxis – my favourite topics for teaching are Sustainable Interactive Systems, Human-/Life-centred Design and Business Engineering.
Stronger Sustainability thanks the Community
Design for Sustainability at German UPA – We have teamed up with Katharina Clasen and founded the working group Design for Sustainability in 2023. Our goal was a stronger integration of Sustainability in our professional world. Together we can spread much more and we did it in 2024 – the initiated interviews of UX professional, the monthly exchange to current related topics on Sustainability, one F2F-Exchange in Schloss Tempelhof with working group EthiX in August, the great panel discussion to Sustainable User Experience in July, the elaborated workshop at the conference MuC2024 in Karlsruhe with our paper to practical recomendation for usage of methods for Human-/Life-centred design. And last but not least – our book User Experience Design & Sustainability has been submitted to Springer Vieweg Verlag by our team of authors from the working group Design for Sustainability and is due to be published in the first few weeks of 2025.
Cooperation with Ukrainian University
The last year was also a bridge year to build a new cooperations, new partnership with Ukrainian colleges for exchange of knowledge and expansion of joint projects related to renewable and sustainable information technology. As Kick-Off of the collaboration holds Marian Slabinoha from Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas the lectures about IT Security at the DHBW Heidenheim in November 2024. The Swabian region of Ostwürttemberg (Baden-Württemberg, Germany) has also been explored and tested culinary :), as can be seen at the pictures below.
My goals for 2025 – keep going and keep growing! Of course #SUSTAINABLE!
